Franklin County Woman Arrested; Newborn Baby Tests Positive For Drugs

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police arrested a Franklin County woman after they say her newborn baby tested positive for an addiction to pain medications.

Russellville Police say Rachael Nicole Gaudio, 28, is charged with chemical endangerment of a child.

Investigators say Gaudio’s baby was born on August 9th and tested positive for oxycodone.

Police say the child remains in the hospital and is still improving. 

Gaudio is being held in the Russellville City Jail.
