Lab coats are the suggested attire for an evening of food, fun, music and auction items.

The Sci-Quest Mad Scientist Ball is coming up on Friday, August 24.  The Mad Scientist Ball is the premier yearly fundraising event for the non-profit hands-on science center.  Tickets are $50 per person and are on sale now

Sci-Quest is currently located on the campus of Calhoun Community College.  The center announced in July it will be moving to a vacant building on Madison Boulevard.   Funds raised from the Mad Scientist Ball will help with center's plans to renovate that site.

Organizers of the ball say the adult event promises an exciting evening with live music from Toy Shop, catering by Cyn Shea's and beverages from Straight to Ale.  The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m.

The highlight of the event is the awarding of the 2012 Quest for Excellence Awards.  These awards are given each year to publicly recognize outstanding contributions of individuals in the greater Huntsville community in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
