Huntsville, Alabama:

Candidate will be a flight software engineer for the Targets and Countermeasures Program (TCP) designing and developing flight software for ground and air-launched target missiles. This position reports to the Strategic Targets Software Senior Manager and is assigned to the Strategic Targets IPT within the Target and Countermeasures Program. Assignments will be identified by and coordinated with the (1) flight software lead and (2) the Strategic Targets Software Senior Manager. Perform day-to-day software development lifecycle activities including requirements specification, object oriented analysis, object oriented design, implementation, unit test, unit integration test, HW/SW and system integration, formal verification test, and post-mission performance analysis. Primary responsibilities are to participate as a member of the flight software team in the effort associated with ground, sea and air launch flight software configuration to (1) develop flight software requirements allocated from the product specification tree, (2) develop the software design (using UML and Tau) based on these software requirements, (3) develop object oriented code based on the software design, (4) develop unit tests for this developed code, (5) perform configuration management of developed/baseline code (using Synergy), (6) perform necessary Peer Reviews and provide Software Review Board (SRB) support as required, (7) review lessons learned and best practices from other flight software programs for application to TCP, and (8) support preparation and presentation of materials as part of a software acceptance review (SAR). In the execution of these responsibilities the candidate is to adhere to company command media and customer contract requirements. The nature of the work requires the candidate be organized and detailed oriented. This position requires strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment and interface with software developers, test engineers, system engineers, program management, quality assurance engineers, and customer representatives.

Launch vehicle flight software experience; Exposure to the full software development life cycle of requirements, design, coding, testing, delivery, and maintenance; Experience in requirements development and/or analysis for software-to-hardware interfaces; Familiarity with launch vehicle design, operations, commanding and telemetry; Familiarity with launch vehicle avionics hardware; Experience using Telelogic Tau, and DOORS; Experience using LDRA; Software Configuration Management using Synergy; Software testing and requirements verification and validation; Knowledge of and experience with the Missile Defense Agency and Target and Countermeasures (TCP) customer.
