Four People Charged In Drug Store Robbery

NEW MARKET, Ala. (WHNT) – Four men are charged following a robbery Tuesday afternoon at New Market Drugs, located at 5324 Winchester Road.

The robbery happened shortly after 3:00 p.m.  Madison County Sheriff Investigator Brent Patterson says two men walked inside the business and demanded prescription medications and money.  There were also reports of shots being fired in the business.

The men left, and sheriff’s deputies saw a vehicle that matched the description witnesses gave.  Deputies chased the car on Highway 72 East into Jackson County and caught the men.

The following men were arrested:

  • Clarence Edward Turner, 23, charged with two counts of robbery 1st
  • Davaron Antione Love, 24, charged with two counts of robbery 1st
  • Tavaris Dewayne McCartney, 27, charged with two counts of robbery 1st
  • Cordaryl Lashawn Turner, 25, charged with two counts of robbery 1st

Deputies booked the men in the Madison County Detention Center.
