Police: Father Shoots Son in Northwest Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Huntsville Police are investigating a man's death at the intersection of Westwood Drive and Bragg Street in Northwest Huntsville.

Just after midnight, Huntsville Police responded to 4700 Westwood Drive for a shooting. Police say it was a domestic situation between a father and a son, and the father dialed 911.  Huntsville Police say the man told them he shot his son.

When paramedics and police arrived at the scene, the found the son, Michael Alexander Button, with two gunshot wounds.  Button, 37, died before they could treat him.

Huntsville Police recovered a handgun at the scene.  They are questioning the father.
