Candlelight Vigil Planned For Teen Who Died In Wreck Near Elkmont

(WHNT) – The family of a teenager who died in a wreck earlier this week will hold a candlelight vigil in her memory tonight.

Kayla Rachelle Allen Maynard, 17, died in a wreck July 25 on Easter Ferry Road.  Just after midnight, her car crashed into a ravine and caught on fire. She died at the scene.

Maynard’s family will hold a candlelight vigil on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Flint River Baptist Church. 

Maynard attended Hazel Green High School last year, and was preparing to begin her senior year at Elkmont High School.
