Volunteers from Leadership Huntsville/Madison County’s Connect program are hosting a Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Fun Day from on July 14, 2012 at the Southeast Huntsville branch of the YMCA to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. The event will include activities for children, as well as informational presentations about juvenile arthritis and quality of life improvements for children living with arthritis and related disorders. The event will be open to the public from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. and will include aquatic activities, a bouncing castle, children’s games and activities such as face painting, and access to the YMCA recreational facilities. In lieu of an admission fee, Leadership Huntsville / Madison County is asking that event attendees make a contribution of supplies to benefit the Arthritis Foundation’s children’s camps or a monetary donation to Leadership Huntsville / Madison County, with the proceeds of the event being donated to the Arthritis Foundation.
A complete list of requested supplies is available at www.arthritistoday.org, and generally includes camp-related items such as sunscreen, coloring books, large pencil grippers, chunky crayons and PG or G rated DVD’s or childrens books (ages are 3-17).
