McCurdy Avenges Last Year, Wins 45th Spirit Of America Championship

After three rounds at the Spirit of America Championship, Auburn's Will McCurdy had a four-stroke lead over Alabama's Trey Mulllinax.  Perhaps fittingly, the championship would come down to one of these two players from two heated rivals.

McCurdy committed only one bogey through the front nine of his round.  Mullinax was in his playing group and knew what he had to do to make up some ground.  He played aggressively, attempting to drive on par fours, not letting up and keeping the pressure on his Auburn counterpart.

Though Mullinax was able to trim his deficit to three on a couple of occasions, McCurdy sank birdies on the back nine to prevent anyone else from a comeback.

While McCurdy avenged a playoff loss last year, he said he focused more on the course than anything else.
