Truck Catches Fire After Hitting Boulder

One person is in the hospital after a pickup truck slammed into a boulder while driving up Monte Sano.

Around 2:45 Wednesday morning Huntsville Police responded to the accident at the top of Monte Sano on Governors Drive.  According to police, the truck was heading up Governors Drive when the driver hit the curb, left the road and slammed into a boulder. 

Three people were in the truck.  They were all able to make it out just before the truck burst into flames.  Huntsville Firefighters put out the fire, and HEMSI paramedics rushed one passenger to Huntsville Hospital in serious condition.  The other two passengers in the truck were not injured.

Huntsville Police had to shut down Governors Drive for about an hour while they cleaned up the scene.
