Ala. Supreme Court Denies Request From Bishop’s Lawyers Over Expert Pay

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Alabama Supreme Court has denied a request from Dr. Amy Bishop Anderson’s lawyers regarding pay for expert witnesses in her upcoming trial.

Bishop Anderson’s lawyers were trying to force to State of Alabama to pay fees for expert witnesses before the trial.  They appealed to the Alabama Supreme Court, who ruled Friday the defense has not taken adequate measures for the high court to intervene.

Amy Bishop Anderson is set to go to trial September 10 in Madison County for allegedly shooting six colleagues at UA Huntsville in February 2010.  Three died.  The biology professor says she does not remember the crime.
