An overnight wreck involving a Department of Transportation ends with two people recovering in the hospital Thursday morning.

According to Huntsville Police, Alabama DOT vehicles were sweeping the street along the shoulder of Interstate 565 when an Acura ran into the truck following the street cleaner.  The impact was so severe it sent the marker truck across two lanes and into the median.

HEMSI paramedics took the driver of the Acura to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition.  Paramedics took the driver of the DOT truck to Decatur General with minor injuries.

Crews rerouted traffic on Interstate 565 for several hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
