(WHNT) – Looking for a local fireworks display?  We’ve listed some of the big ones here. Some of these include community events prior to July 4th, too.  If you have an event to list, please add it to our Community Calendar.  Check the fireworks listing on our calendar to see more fireworks displays and patriotic celebrations in the Tennessee Valley.

Cost: $20 per vehicle.  Must purchase parking pass.

Sci-Quest: Red, White and Fun!
102 Wynn Drive, Huntsville
Wednesday, July 4
1 – 4 p.m.
Red, white, and blue experiments and activities; learn how fireworks are made.
Active and retired military personnel, along with their families, receive free admission all day.

Bridge Street: Fishin’ On The Fourth
On July 4th, Bridge Street Town Centre will host Fishin’ On The 4th, a free fishing rodeo for children.  It will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the west side of Bridge Street’s lake.  There will be prizes in different age categories ranging from toddlers to age 15.  After the kids’ rodeo, adults can fish the lake until 3 p.m.  Please bring your own fishing equipment and check in at the tent on the west side of the lake.  You can buy live bait on site, or bring your own.  You may only use live bait.  More information here.


July 4 – Activities from 2 to 10 p.m. at Dublin Park. Fireworks at approximately 8:45 p.m.


Come enjoy the Spirit of America festival!  Experience children’s activities, live music, Miss Point Mallard Pageant and large fireworks display.  Fireworks are July 4 at 10 p.m.

Spirit of Freedom Festival

McFarland Park–Nationally known musicians perform all day, food vendors on site, followed by the largest fireworks show in the area.
Gates open at 6 a.m.
Fireworks at 9 p.m.

29th Annual Sand Mountain Potato Festival
Henagar Town Park
Wednesday, July 4

Sand Mountain is well-known for its rich diversity of agricultural products, including potatoes. Celebrate the heritage with live music, arts and crafts, entertainment, games and fireworks. Event culminates with a beautiful fireworks display. 
Scottsboro/Goose Pond

The 4th of July celebration will be held Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the amphitheater.  Music provided by Cheezee Band and The Broads from Nashville will start at 6:00 p.m.  The fireworks will go off at 9:00 p.m.  There will be food vendors and the event is free to the public.  Location: Goose Pond Colony Park
