Monday night’s storms brought down a number of trees in the Shoals area.

When a line of thunderstorms moved through Colbert County, it brought a tree down on a home on Old Lee Highway in Cherokee.

We also had reports of trees down in Hatton, in Lawrence County.  Power lines were also down in Moulton.

Most of the damage was from the wind.  At times, some areas saw winds as high as 30 to 40 miles per hour as the gust front came through ahead of the rain.  That’s what brought trees and power lines down in places like Green Hill, Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals and Florence.
