Stars Lose Rain-Filled Opener To BayBears

After a rainout on Thursday and a three-hour delay before first pitch on Friday, the Stars lost a 4-2 rain-shortened game against the Mobile BayBears at Hank Aaron Stadium. Ending in seven innings, the loss gave the Stars their third consecutive loss in a row. For Huntsville, starting pitcher Josh Stinson fell to 7-3 on the season after giving up four runs and nine hits through six innings. On offense, left fielder Juan Sanchez contributed with two hits and a RBI single in the fifth inning. With the defeat, the Stars are now 4.5 games behind the Jackson Generals for first place in the Southern League north with nine games to play.

The Stars and BayBears will attempt to play two games on Saturday, with Huntsville sending RHP Evan Anundsen (4-3, 2.32 ERA) to the mound to face off against Mobile RHP Brian Henry (1-1, 4.34 ERA) for game one. The doubleheader will begin at 5:05 PM.
