Stars Add Manzella To Roster

The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have announced a roster move prior to tonight’s game at Jackson. The Brewers have signed shortstop Tommy Manzella to a minor league contract. He has been assigned to Huntsville.

Manzella was most recently at in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization at Triple-A Reno. He started in 14 games with the Aces, 11 at shortstop, two at second base and one at third. Manzella is the fifth player on the Stars active roster with Major League experience. He spent parts of two seasons (2009-10) with the Houston Astros. In 2009, he was a late-season call-up, appearing in seven games. He spent the entire 2010 season with the Astros, hitting .225 in 83 games.  

With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 25 with six on the disabled list.
