Madison County Fishing Rodeo Is Saturday

If fishing is your thing, mark Saturday, May 12 on your calendar.  The Madison County Commission will hold its 30th annual Fishing Rodeo at Sharon Johnston Park.

Last week, teams dumped 2,000 pounds of live catfish in the lake.  No fishing is allowed in the lake until the morning of May 12.

Children ages 5-10 can fish at 8:30 a.m.  Children ages 11-15 can fish at 10:30 a.m.  Bring your own rod and reel or pole, and check in half an hour prior to fishing times. Also, bring your favorite bait or lure.  The Commission will also provide worms.

There are various prizes, including T-shirts, fishing gear, hats and U.S. Savings Bonds.
