Former Alabama Great Billy Neighbors Dies At 72

He played for Bear Bryant's first National Championship team at Guard.  And even until the end, he was a fighter.

Billy Neighbors died Monday after suffering a heart attack last Wednesday.  He was 72 years old.

After graduating from Alabama, Neighbors played professionally for seven years, then retired to Huntsville where he became a businessman.

Neighbors is survived by several family members who played college football.  His two sons, Wes and Keith, both played at Alabama.  One grandson, Wesley, helped Alabama win a pair of national championships and another grandson, Connor, plays for LSU.
