Decatur Police Involved in Standoff at Hospitality Park

Just before 8:00 pm Monday night, Decatur Police say they were notified of a gunshot fired in Hospitality Park.

The park is located where Highway 20 and Highway 31 intersect in Limestone County before crossing the river into Decatur, but remains within the Decatur city limits.

When officers arrived at Hospitality Park, they found a man they say was having personal problems. Police say he did have a weapon on him.

After a couple of hours, police were able to convince the man to surrender.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Decatur Police say they will release more details about the standoff later this morning.
