The Alabama House of Representatives is set to debate a bill aimed at making it more difficult for couples to get a divorce.

The bill would require a husband and wife with children under the age of 18 to complete at least four hours of counseling before getting divorced.

A judge would be able to set aside the requirement as part of the legislation.
