One Alabama fan got some quality time with one of her favorite players recently.  Trent Richardson took a Hueytown student to her high school prom, an event she thought she would miss.

Courtney Alvis is recovering from leukemia.  She was diagnosed at age 16, during her junior year at Hueytown High School.

"I couldn't drive.  I couldn't go to school or even go to the mall or out to eat because of germs," Alvis said.

Alvis went through a year of chemotherapy and lost her hair.  It is now growing back, and Courtney was determined to make it to her senior prom.  Like every teen, though, Courtney felt some hesitation.

"I wasn't comfortable with my body and of course I didn't have long pretty hair to fix and also, I didn't have a date," Alvis said.

Courtney's uncle has some Alabama connections and spread the word.  Through the grapevine, Trent Richardson heard about it.

Courtney and Trent went to the Hueytown prom on Saturday night.  She was voted prom queen.  We wish her all the best with her recovery.
