The Auburn Tigers held their final practice of the spring Monday morning, working two hours in shorts and shoulder pads at the Auburn Athletic Complex Practice Fields.

“Today was a good ending,” said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. “Basically our objective today was to go out and clean up some little things here and there from the spring game. There was a lot of energy out there and some great focus today.

“Overall -- big picture for the spring -- I think there was a lot of progress made in a lot of different spots. We certainly aren’t anywhere near where we need to be, but taking into consideration the newness of the offenses and defenses, I feel like we ended in a place that’s about where we thought we would be.”

Taking a look back at Saturday’s A-Day scrimmage, Chizik felt the “effort was really good, the kids had fun, and we tried to play physical football. There were some good things but there were some inconsistencies there. Overall, inconsistency has really been the message this spring. I’m pleased with some things, but there’s a long way to go.”
