As we mark the one year anniversary of the April 27 tornadoes, WHNT News 19 wants to make sure you are prepared for the next storm.

Today, we are holding community events at the following locations until 7pm:

  • Guntersville Wal-Mart, at 11697 U.S. Highway 431 (in partnership with the Marshall County EMA)
  • Russellville Wal-Mart, at 13675 Highway 43 (in partnership with the Franklin County EMA and Russellville Fire and Rescue)
  • Madison/Limestone location: Home Depot on Highway 72 in Madison (in partnership with the United Way of Madison County, Limestone County EMA and Madison County EMA)

You can buy a NOAA weather radio, and we will program it for free.  We will also raise money for the purchase of weather radios and collect donated weather radios, if you would like to give one to a person in need.

If you already have a weather radio and need help programming it, drop by as well!

WHNT News 19 will also showcase additional ways you can stay weather aware and talk about weather safety.

At 6:45pm, we invite you to join us for candlelight vigils at all three locations.  We will provide candles, as supplies last.
