Athens Police arrested two sex offenders on Thursday, saying both men violated the Sex Offender Community Notification Act.

Police arrested Steve Glenn Hampton, saying he had not been living at the residence he declared to police for two weeks.  Hampton is now in the Limestone County Jail.

Also on Thursday, Athens Police served two arrest warrants on 53-year-old Rory Dale Dennard for two violations of the Community Notification Act.  Dennard, 53, had been living at a local motel in Athens until February 4 when management discovered he was a sex offender.  He left the motel that day but did not tell police.
