Madison County DA Seeks Death Penalty In Jacob Shaffer Case

WHNT NEWS 19 has learned prosecutors involved in the Jacob Shaffer case plan to seek the death penalty against Jacob Shaffer.

Shaffer is already serving a life sentence in Tennessee for killing five people in 2009.

Shaffer pleaded guilty to the murder charges in Tennessee last year.

He’s charged in Alabama with beating a man to death.

Shaffer is in the Madison County Detention Center awaiting trial.

A trial date has not been set.
