The Madison County Sheriff’s office has identified the remains of a young girl found in 1997.  They will release these findings in a news conference Wednesday.

The skeletal remains were found by a hunter on October 16, 1997 wrapped in plastic.   Forensics experts say the girl was between 15 and 19 years old.  It’s believed the girl had been killed one year before the bones were found.

The girl never matched any known missing persons cases, so investigators had no DNA to match with the bones.  WHNT News 19 is working to get more details on this case.
