Miranda Dollarhide produces WHNT News 19 at 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

She graduated from Auburn in 2012, majoring in journalism. During her time there, she served as editor of The Auburn Plainsman. She was also on the crew club team.

Miranda grew up in Huntsville, graduating from Sparkman High School.

Dollarhide is an Olde English name, if you're curious. Miranda enjoys playing soccer and has two younger siblings, a brother and a half sister.

She likes to read, and really enjoyed The Hunger Games trilogy and the two movies so far, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.

She also loves The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, The Lion King and Gone With The Wind.

Miranda has two pet cats she rescued, Atreyu (named after a character in The Neverending Story) and Karma.

Miranda enjoys working in broadcast journalism, despite majoring in print journalism. She says it's simply an adjustment to be creative in a different way.

Miranda's favorite city is San Francisco. She's traveled there about five times and loves to go to Chinatown and get Dim Sum. She also loves Mexican food, especially tacos.
