    DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Decatur Police say they deployed all available resources from Friday into Saturday morning, as a spree of violent crimes claimed two lives.   • UPDATE: Man could be charged with murder in DeKalb County homicide

    DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A manhunt in DeKalb County has come to an end and a man is charged with assault and kidnapping as investigators learn more about a Saturday morning homicide on County Road 127. Douglas Steven Minor, 32, and Norma Jo Grinnell, 36, both persons of interest, were both caught Sunday at a chicken house in Cherokee County.   • Police in Huntsville investigating early morning shooting

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville police officers are investigating an early morning shooting at a gas station. Officers received a call about shots fired at Conoco gas station located at 4001 Pulaski Pike. When officers arrived on the scene they found blood and spent gun shell casings in the parking lot.   • Officer-involved wreck shuts down Huntsville road for several hours

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Huntsville police officer was involved in a wreck that shut down two major roads for several hours early Saturday morning. The officer was taken to Huntsville Hospital after police say a drunk driver hit his cruiser. The accident impacted Jordan Lane and Mastin Lake Road while police investigated the scene.   • 2 Tennessee Valley High Schools compete in National Cyber Defense Competition

    TENNESSEE VALLEY, Ala. (WHNT) -Two teams of students, one from New Century and the other from Grissom High School competed in Washington, DC in a National Cyber Defense Competition. The team from Grissom High School were named the winners of the Leidos Digital Forensics Award, coming out on top of eleven other teams. More than 21-hundred teams from around world participated in this competition.
