Laura joined WHNT News 19 in November 2011. In Fall 2012, she started working as a producer for WHNT News 19 This Morning.

Laura earned a B.A. in Journalism from Auburn University in 2011. During her time in Auburn, she worked as Editor, Managing Editor and Assistant News Editor at the campus newspaper, The Auburn Plainsman. She was awarded First Place for Web Special Project by the Alabama Press Association for work she did during her internship with the Madison County Record newspaper.

In her free time, Laura enjoys cooking, watching Auburn football and spending time with her husband and two dogs, Mila and Martini.

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A suspected drunk driver leads police on a 45-minute chase. It started as a traffic stop near Drake Avenue and Patton Road. The driver refused to pull over, and police began a 25 mile per hour chase. Police followed the truck east on Drake Avenue to Leeman Ferry Road, then down to Joe Davis Stadium.     ST. JOSEPH, La. (WHNT) – A hostage situation at a bank in Louisiana has come to an end. The attacker held hostages at gunpoint and shot them as authorities moved in to end the situation. The hostage situation lasted for 12 hours. Authorities say the gunman had no intention of robbing the bank. Instead, he was trying to make a statement.     CLERMONT, Fla. (CBS) – A sinkhole caused a section of a central Florida resort villa to partially collapse early Monday, while another section of the villa was sinking, authorities said.   • Crash Shuts Down Portion of Parkway

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville police shut down part of Memorial Parkway early Monday morning. The wreck happened just before midnight Sunday. Police say an 18-wheeler and a Subaru collided just north of I-565 on Memorial Parkway. The Subaru was flipped on its side blocking the Parkway. Huntsville Fire and HEMSI Paramedics responded. Both drivers were taken to Huntsville Hospital with minor injuries. The Parkway was reopened within a half hour. It is not clear why the two vehicles collided.
