Madison Hospital and happy parents welcome Christmas baby Carolyn

MADISON, Ala. -- One Decatur family got an extra special gift this Christmas. Lea and Andrew Stall welcomed a beautiful baby girl on December 25 at 4:04 a.m. Carolyn Rose Stall was born at 20.5 inches and weighing 7 pounds 4 ounces. She was the first baby born Christmas day at Madison Hospital.

The first time parents say her due date was January 1, but on Christmas Eve Lea said she knew the baby was coming soon.

"I felt kind of stupid going in, because I wasn't really sure if it was the real deal or not," Lea said. "But obviously, it was."
Andrew said he came up with the name before the birth. The parents now said their Christmas Carolyn is the perfectly festive name.

"I was joking that she took after me because she obviously loves Christmas just as much as I do," Lea said. "Because she wanted to be with us for it."

They said they were the only family in labor and delivery that morning, so it was quiet, but the hospital staff kept up the Christmas spirit.

"Decked out with reindeer antlers, big necklace, and jingle bell shoes," Lea said. "Everytime she was walking down the hallway we'd hear. It sounded like Santa Claus was coming."

Family members, including a brand new aunt, along with grandma and grandpa, made the trip from Indianapolis to meet their first grandchild. Madison Hospital's first Christmas baby, was followed hours later by Huntsville Hospital's first, born just after noon, on Christmas Day
