TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AL.com)- Eight of the nine Alabama assistant coaches were on the field when the Crimson Tide returned to practice Friday afternoon.
Noticeably absent was defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, who coaches the middle linebackers.
The new early signing period that starts Dec. 20 changed the dynamic for new head coaching hires like Pruitt at Tennessee who juggle two jobs this time of year. The contact period ends Sunday and he'll be back to Alabama practice after that.
