School Closings and Early Dismissals: Wednesday, March 1

Here is a list of closings that have come in to our newsroom for Wednesday, March 1 due to potential severe storms. We will update this list as more school systems notify us of schedule changes.

School Closings and Early Dismissals:

  • Albertville City Schools – closing at 11 a.m. All afternoon activities cancelled.
  • Arab City Schools – closing at 11 a.m.
  • Boaz City Schools – closing at 11 a.m. All afternoon activities cancelled.
  • Colbert County Schools – cancelling after-school activities.
  • Cornerstone Christian Academy in Rainsville – closing at 12:30 p.m.
  • Cullman City Schools – closing at 11:30 a.m.
  • Cullman County Schools – already scheduled to dismiss at 12:00 p.m.
  • DeKalb County Schools – closing at 12 p.m.
  • Fort Payne City Schools – closing at 12 p.m.
  • Franklin County Schools – now closed.
  • Guntersville City Schools – closing at 11 a.m.
  • Hartselle City Schools – closing at 11:30 a.m.
  • Jackson County – closing at 12 p.m.
  • Lawrence County, AL Schools – closing at 11:30 a.m.
  • Limestone County Schools – closing immediately, bus riders will be released as soon as buses arrive
  • Madison Academy – closing at 11:50 a.m.
  • Madison County Schools – 11:30 a.m.
  • Marshall County Schools – closing at 11 a.m.
  • Morgan County Schools – closing at 12 p.m.
  • Northeast Alabama Community College – closing at 12:30 p.m.
  • Oakwood Adventist Academy – closing at 1:30 p.m All afternoon activities canceled.
  • Russellville City Schools – now closed.
  • Scottsboro City Schools – K-6 will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. 7-12th grade will dismiss at 12 p.m.
  • Snead State Community College – closing for the rest of the day (announced 12:50pm.) Will resume normal business hours on Thursday.
  • Wallace State – closing at 11:30 a.m.
