BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Two climb out window after house catches fire

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville fire and Rescue started their Saturday morning at a house fire on Sullivan Road.

HEMSI officials say they were dispatched to a home in the 2100th block just after 2 a.m. Two people one adult and one teenager, were trapped in the home at the time.

They escaped through a window in the front of the house and went across the street to safety. HEMSI treated the adult victim’s injuries, mostly sustained from the escape.

The homeowner was not at the house at the time, according to officials. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
