Dangerously cold with snow possible for UNA DII championship game

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The University of North Alabama Lions will travel to Kansas City, Kansas this weekend to play in the NCAA Division II National Championship game.

The Lions will face Northwest Missouri State University at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 17. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

The game will be played at Children’s Mercy Park.

The weather conditions will be extremely harsh on the day of the game. Expect bitterly cold temperatures, especially in the afternoon. The temperature at kickoff will be around 17 degrees; temperatures will hover in the middle teens through the fourth quarter.

A very icy northwest wind between 12 and 22 miles per hour will make it feel near zero degrees during the game.

Light snow is also possible during the game, but amounts should stay less than one inch.
