Huntsville school board to interview five finalists for superintendent in January
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The search is narrowing down, for a new superintendent of Huntsville City Schools. The application date for the position closed yesterday, and next month, the Board of Education will interview each of the five finalists.
The Alabama Association of School Boards was hired to help find a new leader for the district, using criteria set by the Huntsville Board of Education and community assessments. The AASB conducted advertising, processed applications, and reviewed credential/reference verifications in order to select five finalists to recommend to the board.
No names have been announced at this point.
The AASB will present the results to the board in a special called meeting on Thursday, January 5, 2017. It will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Annie Merts Center, located at 200 White Street.
There will be additional meetings later in the month where the school board will interview these five finalists. Here is the full schedule for January:
