Madison, AL- It came down to the wire for James Clemens linebacker Monty Rice. The three-star prospect woke up on the morning of his commitment ceremony with three teams left on the table and no definitive choice.
"I stayed up real late thinking about it," Rice admitted.
11:30 a.m. rolled around and in front of his family and friends inside the James Clemens gymnasium, the 6-foot-2, 235 pound senior picked LSU over Auburn and Georgia.
"You know LSU, they always play a good style of defense. They played Bama the closest this year out of everybody," said Rice. "You know I just wanna be on a good defense and around some good people. I'm real happy, happiest day of my life."
According to 247Sports Composite, Rice is the No. 21 inside linebacker in the country. He will enroll early and head to Baton Rouge in January.
