Huntsville “Heroes” help provide Christmas to underprivileged kids

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Police officers take part in sharing the holiday spirit by helping provide Christmas for underprivileged children during a “Shop with a Hero” event Saturday.

“Shop with a Hero” partners with Walmart to pair a hero with a child and provide a $100 gift card to go shopping with. Officer Bruce Jansen was with Autumn and Ledale Nettles Saturday as they were rung up for their shiny new bikes and a few other fun items.

To qualify as a hero you must be:

  • Military – Active – reserve – retired or Veteran.
  • Nurse – Doctor – Medical professional of any sort.
  • Teacher – Administrator – If you are involved in Education in any way.
  • Fireman – First responder – Paramedic.
