Bibb County Sheriff’s death confirmed as suicide

BIBB COUNTY, Ala. – District Attorney Michael Jackson confirms a preliminary autopsy report shows Bibb County Sheriff Keith Hannah took his own life.

According to our news partners at Al.com, Jackson received the report earlier in the week.

Hannah’s body was discovered in his Centreville office on November 16. Jackson says he was found dead in a bathroom connected to his office with a gunshot to the head.

Hannah, 50, was first sworn in as sheriff in 2003. He first went to work with the sheriff’s office as a deputy at age 21.

Centreville is located about 50 miles southwest of Birmingham.
