HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A local man has been arrested in a child pornography investigation.  The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Stephen Smith, 54, had images on his home and work computers.

Sheriff Blake Dorning said investigators from his department and agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security executed search warrants this morning at Smith’s home, in the 11000 block of Chicamauga Trail SE in Huntsville, and at his place of work on Church Street.

Sheriff Dorning said the initial search of these locations “netted the seizure of several types of electronic media devices where pornographic images and videos depicting female children of various ages were located.”

Agents arrested Smith and took him in for questioning.  He was charged with possession of child pornography and dissemination/display of child pornography.  He is being held in the Madison County Jail on $40,000 bond.

If convicted, Smith could face one to 20 years in prison.
