Decatur Christmas Parade rescheduled for Monday, December 12th

Decatur, Al. – The Decatur Christmas Day Parade has been rescheduled for Monday, December 12th beginning at 6:00 P.M. according to the Decatur Junior Chamber of Commerce. The parade was originally planned for Monday, December 5th but the Junior Chamber of commerce decided to push the date back one week in anticipation of rain.

The Christmas Parade’s will be themed after the film Elf, and will feature several floats from organizations and members of the community.

Four cash prizes will be awarded for the following categories of floats: Best Decorated Float, Best Walking Unit, Best Animal Unit and Best Decorated Vehicle.

The parade route will begin at 2nd Avenue & Gordon Drive and it will end the the Old State Bank. Floats are encouraged to line up at 4:30 P.M. in order for the parade to begin promptly at 6:00 P.M.
