Decatur Police make arrest in fatal shooting

Olajuwon White turned himself in to Decatur Police and was charged with murder.

DECATUR, Ala. — Decatur Police responded to a shots fired call on Wimberly Drive early Saturday morning.

According to the press release, when police arrived they found Marcus Lashawn White, 26, laying on the ground suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the Decatur Morgan Hospital where he died from his injuries.

His body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensics lab in Huntsville for an autopsy.

Witnesses at the scene named Olajuwon Deshaun White, 22, of Decatur as the shooter. The victim and the defendant are not related.

Olajuwon White turned himself in to Decatur Police and was charged with murder.

He is currently at the Morgan County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
