A tornado outbreak was the big story in the Tennessee Valley this week.
The storms hit many communities hard and, while you've almost certainly seen our big picture reports focused on destruction and recovery, you may have missed some of the smaller moments that stood out.
Here are just a few of those (and more) in case you missed it!
A tornado unleashed its fury for the third time in less than 10 years on the tiny town of Rosalie. WHNT News 19's Jerry Hayes and Kristen Conner showed us how the community came together in crisis to begin rebuilding. From food trucks passing out free eats to circles of love and prayer, it was a sight to behold.
Madison County was also hit with a tornado near the Ryland area. One woman told us she barely survived. After hearing a cell phone alert sound, she rushed to her closet. Moments later her entire roof was gone; her home was a wreck. She, was spared.
Just down the road, some horses had their own miraculous experience. Despite nearly every building being blown to bits out at Flint Ridge Farm, 35 horses survived the storm unscathed. If you'd like to help the farm rebuild, here's more information.
Dolly to the Rescue
The Gatlinburg, TN we know and love may never be exactly the same after an outbreak of fires this week that left the community in ruins. At least 10 people are confirmed dead and more than 50 were injured; homes and businesses were destroyed.
Area native Dolly Parton is stepping up to help. The music icon and country legend is creating a fund to give each family affected by the wildfires $1,000 a month for six months to help them get back on their feet. Go Dolly!
I've Got a Golden... Beer Can?
