Another Threat: Severe storms possible again late tonight into early Wednesday morning

Looking at this afternoon: temperatures rise to near record-warmth later today, and we see some sunshine for a while with a gusty south wind.

That’s just setting up the next wave of stormy weather for late tonight into Wednesday morning.  We’ll still have a breeze: 10-20 miles per hour with higher gusts in the afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center posted a ‘Slight Risk’ for most the Tennessee Valley for tonight and Wednesday. Storms are more likely to become stronger or severe west of I-65.

Another disturbance pulls warm, humid air north tonight, and a cold front moving into the region kicks off another round of heavy storms between 9 PM and 5 AM.

These storms may be stronger than those that came through on Monday night, so we will be watching them closely. All types of severe weather are possible: high winds, hail, and even a chance of a tornado developing under the right conditions.
