Thanksgiving Travel Forecast

If you're traveling at all this week, there are a few weather systems you'll want to keep an eye on.

Midweek Cold Front: A cold front is developing in Colorado that will push eastward through the week. By Wednesday that will bring rain from Mississippi to Alabama and north throughTennessee and Kentucky. If you're headed even further north into the Great Lakes region be mindful Wednesday, as that frontal system will bring some snow showers. That front won't hold together very well though, so by Thursday and Friday we'll only see a few pockets of snow possible in the Northeast and a few showers along the coast of the Carolinas.

Stormy for the Pacific Northwest: If you're making the long ride or flight to the Pacific Northwest, you'll need to be prepared for heavier rain and possibly winter weather too. A strong storm system will produce heavy rain and gusty winds along the Oregon and Washington coast. Further inland snow will likely be coming down through Oregon and Washington. A round of fronts will follow Thursday and Friday too, so heavy rain will stay in the forecast along the coast into Friday and Saturday.

Mild Temperatures: By Thursday and Friday most of the country will see temperatures near average. Here in the Valley temperatures will be comfortable. We'll have chilly overnight temperatures with lows in the upper 30s and low 40s, but pleasant afternoons with highs in the 60s.
