Miami Marlins pitcher Braxton Garrett signing autographs in Sheffield

SHEFFIELD, Ala. - Braxton Garrett may have waited until just hours before the deadline for MLB draft picks to sign, but he isn't making you wait that long to take a selfie with him.

The former Florence High pitcher signed with the Miami Marlins in July and he will be signing autographs this Saturday from 12-2 p.m. at 2nd & 13 Sports Bar and Grille in downtown Sheffield.

The Miami Marlins drafted Garrett with the seventh overall pick back in June.

According to MLB.com's Jim Callis, the left hander's contract is worth just over four million dollars.

Garrett threw 65 innings his senior season with the Florence Falcons. He went 6-2 with a .56 ERA and 131 strikeouts.
