Decatur Police investigating several reports of vandalism to cars, mailboxes overnight

DECATUR, Ala. - Police in Decatur are investigating a series of car windows broken out overnight.  These happened within a span of a few blocks.

Windows were broken in at least nine vehicles between the 200 and 400 blocks of Memorial Drive Southwest.  The vandals left glass shattered and a mess to clean up.

Police say there was other vandalism last night too, including mailboxes being knocked off posts.  There were also reports of car damage and break-ins within the 200 and 300 blocks of Brookhaven Southwest.

Police say there have been about 150 incidents of similar vandalism over the last two months.  In most cases, vehicles were open.  Police urge you to lock your cars.
