Facebook mistakenly declares many users dead – including Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook Annouces A New Product

A Facebook glitch mistakenly announced the deaths of many users Friday, in the form of a flowery memorial message that appeared above profiles.

Mark Zuckerberg himself “died” Friday, according to screenshots showing the following message, “Remembering Mark Zuckerberg: We hope people who love Mark will find comfort in the things others share to remember and celebrate his life.”

Others took screenshots of the premature announcements and posted to Twitter, including many who were surprised to learn of their own apparent passing:

Facebook appears to have fixed the issue as of 1:25 p.m. PST.
