Police confirm one person died in wreck involving 18-wheeler on Memorial Parkway

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Police say one man due to injuries received in a crash involving an 18-wheeler on Thursday morning.

Police say 45-year-old Frazier Douglass was stopped in traffic congestion on the northbound side of Memorial Parkway, near the I-565 interchange, when an 18-wheeler travelling northbound struck the rear of  his vehicle.

Mr. Douglass was taken to Huntsville Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Huntsville police are investigating the accident.

The wreck clogged northbound traffic on the Parkway all the way back past Drake Avenue between approximately 7:30 and 9 a.m.
