National and local freebies and deals for our military on Veterans Day

Veterans Day is Friday, November 11. A number of local businesses and restaurants are offering deals for military veterans in observance of the special day. Some of those businesses are also including active-duty members of the military and their families.

Below is a list of discounts and freebies at different establishments for veterans.

It is also important to note, this is a national list provided to us. You may want to call ahead to make sure the establishment in this area are honoring the same offer.

Applebee’s: In honor of their services, veterans and active duty military get a free meal.

Bar Louie: Veterans and active-duty military will get a free appetizer or entrée on Veterans Day.

Baskin-Robbins: – For every ice cream scoop sold on Veterans Day, the brand will make an $.11 donation to the U.S.O.

Bonefish Grill: On Friday, November 11th, all active and retired service members with a valid military ID will receive a Complimentary Bang Bang Shrimp at all Bonefish Grill locations.

Buffalo Wild Wingscomplimentary order of wings and a side of fries to veterans and active-duty military. Must present acceptable proof of military service, which includes: permanent or temporary U.S. military ID cards, veteran’s card, a photograph of yourself in military uniform, or dine-in at a participating location in uniform.

Chicken Salad Chick: – Vets can munch on a free Original Chick meal and beverage. The meal includes a chicken salad scoop or sandwich, side, pickle, and cookie.

Chik-fil-A:  All military veterans will receive a free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich on Veterans Day (Friday, November 11).

Chili’s:  Veterans, retirees, and active duty personnel can choose a free entree from a select menu on November 11.

Chipotle: From 3 p.m. – close, veterans, active duty members, and military spouses can buy one small burrito, bowl, or salad and get one free.

Chuck E Cheese: With a Uniformed Service I.D. or Common Access Card, current and former military personnel can gobble down a free personal pizza

Cracker Barrel: Veterans can celebrate the holiday with a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca Cola Cake.

Denny’s: Active, inactive, and retired military personnel can build a free Grand Slam from 5 a.m. – 12 p.m. The breakfast includes a choice of four items, such as buttermilk pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon, sausage links, and english muffins.

Golden Corral: Veterans and active duty personnel will be honored with a free meal and beverage.

Hooters: This Veterans Day, diners with proof of service can choose a free entree from an exclusive Veteran’s Day menu. The menu includes wings, burgers, sandwiches, and other Hooters favorites.

IHOP: In honor of the holiday, veterans and active duty members get a stack of Red, White and Blue pancakes. Proof of service required.

JCPenney: will offer a 5 percent discount from Nov. 10-13 to current and former military personnel and their immediate family members with valid military or VA identification provided in-store. The discount may be combined with additional coupons and special offers including a $10 off $25 coupon with any form of payment or 20 percent off coupon when paying with a JCPenney credit card.

Krispy Kreme: will celebrate Veteran’s Day on Friday, November 11th by offering a Free Doughnut (any variety) and a Small Coffee to anyone who identifies themselves as a veteran or active duty military personnel at participating Krispy Kreme locations (no ID required).

Krystal: At participating locations, veterans can grab a free sausage biscuit

Longhorn Steakhouse: Guests with proof of service can score a free steakhouse appetizer or dessert, plus 10% off for fellow diners.

Lowe’s: On November 11, all veterans and their family can receive 10% off purchases.

Marco’s Pizza: Marco’s Pizza will host free pizza parties at local VFWS, VA medical centers, and American Legions across the country. Parties will include special gifts, medical bill assistants, and plane tickets for family visits.

Meineke: Vets and active duty personnel can receive a free basic oil change with proof of service.

National Park Service: All visitors receive free admission to National Parks.

O’Charley’s: This November 11, Veterans and active duty members will be treated to a free meal.

Olive Garden: Current and former service members can choose a free meal from a select menu. Valid for dine in only; proof of service required.

Outback Steakhouse: This year, all current and former service members with I.D. can enjoy two steakhouse specials: A free Bloomin’ Onion with a choice of beverage, and15% off the check for military personnel and their families from November 12 – December 31.

PF Chang’s: Veterans will receive a buy one, get one free entree!

Publix: Veterans, military personnel, and their families are invited to save 10% on groceries on November 11, 2016.

Rack Room Shoes: In honor of Veterans Day, shoppers with valid military I.D. can take 10% off their purchase.

Red Lobster: Veterans and active duty military can visit to get a free appetizer or dessert on November 10 and 11.

Red Robin: With a military I.D., vets and active duty members can sup on a Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Fries.

Red Roof Inns: From November 1 to 30, veterans can save 15% at any Red Roof nationwide. Red Roof also offers active military members 10% off a stay at any Red Roof nationwide all year long.

Regency Retirement Village: Regency Retirement Home in Huntsville will be offering a free “Drivethrough Breakfast” tour community on Friday, November 11th from 8-9:30 a.m. Swing through the parking lot for a free breakfast biscuit in honor of your service. The staff, along with Veteran residents will be there to honor and serve you.

Ruby Tuesday: Veterans and active duty personnel can begin their meal with a free appetizer on November 11.

Shoney’s: This year, vets and active duty military can chow down on a free All American Burger.

Sports Clips: At participating locations, veterans and current service members can score a free haircut with proof of service.

Walgreens: This Veterans Day, customers with Walgreens Balance Rewards cards and valid military I.D. can take 20% off all eligible purchases.

Westgate Resorts: On Veterans Day, guests can get 25% off their rooms. In addition, military personnel and their families can apply for a free vacation package. The first 1,000 applicants will receive a complimentary three-day, two-night vacation for up to four people at Westgate Town Center Resort from May 5-7, 2017.

Texas Roadhouse: Veterans and active duty members can dig into a free lunch on the holiday.

Zoe’s Kitchen: Customers with military I.D. can dine on a free Mediterranean-inspired meal this Veterans Day.
