MADISON COUNTY, Ala. — A New Market teen died early Sunday morning after the truck he was driving left the roadway, hit a culvert, and overturned.

According to ALEA, Mathew Allen Barnett, 18, was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the 1991 Toyota truck. He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

The crash happened at 1 a.m. on Moores Mill Road, just two miles north of Huntsville.

Although the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, preliminary investigation indicates alcohol was a factor in the crash.
