HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Some say brewing beer is a science; others would say it's like painting a picture, but trying to get the perfect taste. "There's a lot of artistry that goes into making a beer. It's like a painting. You have an idea, you paint, and then it turns out in the end that was great", Salty Nut's Head Brewer Brent Cole said.
But if you ask any homebrewer the process of making the perfect craft beer can be a lot of trial and error.
Several years ago Salty Nut head brewer Cole found a love for craft beer, so he started researching and experimenting with different flavors in his garage. He eventually got pretty good at it. "We're very happy where we are and are excited about the future. To come from home brewing in the garage and to be where we are now, it's humbling," Cole said.
Today he offered up his advice to other craft beer lovers by hosting a homebrew class. He's trying to give the people who want to learn about homebrewing his tips, so they can get started quicker. Cole said it's hard to believe at one time he was making beer in a one barrel system, and now he's a part of beer row.
The beer made in class will be placed on tap. He plans to offer another class in the future. You can find out about all their events on social media.
